报告简介:

Arctic warming is amplified by about a factor of three relative to the global average. Local forcing and feedbacks are clearly having an effect, but it is debated how large a role transports of energy and moisture from lower latitudes are playing. This talk will go through the arguments for and against a significant remote impact and will demonstrate how the seemingly contradictory findings may be reconciled.

报告人简介:

Peter L. Langen is professor at the Department of Environmental Science, Aarhus University. He is an expert on climate models and applying them to large- and small-scale questions relating to climate change and feedbacks in the Arctic and globally. Specific topics include Arctic amplification and the coupling between the Arctic and lower latitudes, interactions between the atmosphere, ocean and ice in the climate system as well as the build-up, maintenance and melting of ice sheets in past, present and future climates.
