报告简介:
Surviving in the graduate program that ultimately leads you to success becomes gradually more challenging. Graduate study is no longer just about putting in long hours of hard work in the lab or in front of the computer. Instead, a successful graduate must excel in multiple aspects, including reading, technical skills, research design and implementation, presentation, networking, and leadership. This seminar presentation aims to share the presenter’s vision and experience on how not to fail or become lost, based on his observations over the past 20 years in academia. Personal tips and hints will be provided, including but not limited to: how to start, what we are going to learn, types of graduate students you will meet, the attitudes we should have, how to write and present, how to promote your work, and taking the next step.
