The first part of the forum was chaired by Prof. Xie Huan, deputy dean of the college. She extended a warm welcome to the scholars present and thanked some of them for attending the forum on time despite the jet lag. Prof. Li Bofeng, dean of the college, delivered a speech, in which he introduced the development of the College of Surveying and Geo-Informatics to the scholars. He said there was urgent need of talents, and he sincerely hoped that outstanding young talents at home and abroad could join the college.
In the following 10 hours, young scholars from around the world reported their frontier research and latest scientific research achievements in the field of surveying and mapping, including topics in remote sensing and deep space exploration, satellite navigation and positioning, global change and major disasters monitoring, key technology of space information and sensor network, and many other fields.
