On the morning of May 30, 2020, the 5th International Young Scholar Forum of Tongji University with a theme of "to draw a blueprint together for a bright future" opened successfully. On the afternoon of the same day, the 5th International Young Scholar Forum of Tongji University, Sub-Forum of Surveying, was successfully held online. Eighteen young scholars from China, Germany, the United States, Singapore, Japan and other countries gathered on "Cloud" for academic exchanges. Prof. Li Bofeng, dean of the College of Surveying and Geo-Informatics, Prof. Xie Huan, deputy dean of the college, and Prof. Hao Tong and Wang Qunming presided over the forum. Secretary of Party Committee Lou Lizhi, academic leaders Prof. Tong Xiaohua and Prof. Li Rongxing and more teachers and students of the college attended the forum.

　　This sub-forum adopts the same theme of "to draw a blueprint together for a bright future", aiming to further respond to the university's call of accelerating "double first-class" construction, strengthen academic exchanges between teachers of our college and outstanding young scholars at home and abroad, and prepare for the application of talent plan and the construction of reserve talent pool.

　　The first part of the forum was chaired by Prof. Xie Huan, deputy dean of the college. She extended a warm welcome to the scholars present and thanked some of them for attending the forum on time despite the jet lag. Prof. Li Bofeng, dean of the college, delivered a speech, in which he introduced the development of the College of Surveying and Geo-Informatics to the scholars. He said there was urgent need of talents, and he sincerely hoped that outstanding young talents at home and abroad could join the college.

　　In the following 10 hours, young scholars from around the world reported their frontier research and latest scientific research achievements in the field of surveying and mapping, including topics in remote sensing and deep space exploration, satellite navigation and positioning, global change and major disasters monitoring, key technology of space information and sensor network, and many other fields. There was heated discussion and the interaction between scholars, teachers and students continued until nearly 23:00 Beijing time.

　　Since it was first held in 2016, the forum has become an important platform for outstanding young scholars at home and abroad to learn about and join Tongji University and its College of Surveying and Geo-Informatics.
