Recently, Stanford University released the 2024 edition of the World's Top 2% Scientists list (seventh version), which categorizing scientists based on their citation impact across various disciplines. The list features two categories: "Career-long Citation Impact" and "Annual Citation Impact."
Professors Rongxing Li, Xiaohua Tong, and Yongjiu Feng were recognized in the "Career-long Citation Impact" category. Meanwhile, Xiaohua Tong, Yongjiu Feng, Bofeng Li, Qunming Wang, and Sicong Liu made it onto the "Annual Citation Impact" list. The research areas of these selected faculty members encompass three significant directions within our college: Space Mapping and Remote Sensing for Planetary Exploration, Satellite Navigation and Location based Services, Global Change and Major Disaster Monitoring.
This list is based on the Scopus database, which includes articles published in SCI, SSCI, EI journals, and EI conference proceedings. It utilizes metrics such as citation counts, H-index, and HM-index to comprehensively evaluate researchers. From nearly 7 million scientists worldwide, the top-tier scientists were selected across 22 fields and 174 sub-disciplines, covering a wide range of academic areas.
